Virtual Swim Meet

Attached are the meet package, meet entries, and example meet entries for the Canadian Post-Secondary Masters Virtual Swim Meet (CPSMVSM). Please contact uaswimclub@ualberta.ca for all questions.
We are all aware of the toll that the COVID-19 pandemic has taken on our sport. Some clubs have shut down, and many swimmers have moved on from the sport. More notably, our swim meets seem to be indefinitely postponed, especially at the masters level. As such, we miss out on the competitive nature of our sport.
Even before the pandemic, there was also another issue in the realm of masters swimming. There is a lack of recognition among post-secondary masters swimmers who did not participate in university varsity swimming. These individuals work tirelessly to balance life, academics, work, and swimming. As such, we should highlight the efforts of these individuals as well.
The University of Alberta Masters Swim Club has devised a remedy for these issues. After months of planning, we have created a Canada-wide virtual masters swim meet.
The Canadian Post-Secondary Masters Virtual Swim Meet is open to all registered masters swimmers currently attending a post-secondary institution (i.e., universities, colleges, polytechnic institutions, etc.). This meet will take place virtually. Therefore, all swimmers will have their times recorded within their pools/clubs. More importantly, there are no fees associated with this meet, and this meet is not sanctioned. Results are not to be considered official. More information is available in the meet package.
Please let us know if you're interested in participating in this meet! We hope this meet will provide some sense of normalcy, recognition of non-varsity post-secondary swimmers, and breed competition between other masters swim clubs. Please send any pictures, videos, or messages to uaswimclub@ualberta.ca if you choose to do so! We will post them on our Instagram page (@ualbertaswimclub)!
We will accept results from November 8th to December 31st, 2021. Results will be posted on the ualbertaswimclub Instagram page, and they will be emailed at the end of each month. Please note, given that we are post-secondary students ourselves, we may require more time to update results.
